With the largest news and information audience in Michigan, MLive.com invited our readers in Greater Detroit to recognize the most purpose-driven and impactful nonprofits in their region. They nominated nonprofits that:
- make a significant impact on the Detroit area or its residents
- serve the Detroit area in a meaningful way
- create an impact beyond what is measurable in the usual ways
On #GivingTuesday, the Detroit Nonprofit Program launched. The Detroit Nonprofit Program was a ballot system. By participating in the voting, readers voted for a Detroit area nonprofit they saw listed or wrote in one they wanted to be added to the ballot. The Ballot was open November 30 – December 17, 2021.
